AbhiWork ("we", "our", or "us") operates the AbhiWork mobile application (the "App"), a local-services marketplace that connects customers with local service workers in India. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the App and connect customers with workers:
Phone number — used to create your account and sign you in securely using a one-time password (OTP).
Name — used to set up your profile and to identify you to other users.
Location — used to show relevant nearby tasks and workers, and to help match services to your area.
Profile photo / selfie — used to build trust between customers and workers by showing who you are on your profile.
Task and booking details — the information you enter about a job (such as description, category, and messages) so the service can be delivered.
Worker profile information — if you sign up as a service worker, we also collect the professional details you provide, such as your skills, years of experience, a short description about yourself, your service area, and portfolio photos of your past work. This helps customers understand your services and decide who to hire.
Date of birth & age confirmation — when you register as a worker, we collect your date of birth to confirm you are 18 years of age or older, as required to offer services on AbhiWork.
2. How We Use Your Information
To create and manage your account and verify it through phone OTP.
To connect customers with workers and enable bookings, quotes, chat, and job tracking.
To show relevant tasks and services based on your area.
To send you notifications about your bookings, messages, and account activity.
To maintain trust and safety through profile photos and ratings.
To display worker skills, experience, and portfolio so customers can choose the right worker.
To respond to your support requests.
3. Payments
AbhiWork currently supports cash payments only. All payments are made directly in cash between the customer and the worker. We do not collect, process, or store any card, bank, or other payment information within the App.
4. Push Notifications
With your permission, we send push notifications to keep you informed about new tasks, quotes, messages, and booking updates. Notifications are delivered using Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.
5. How We Store and Protect Your Information
Your information is stored securely using Google Firebase services (including Firestore and Firebase Authentication). Access to your data is protected by security rules, and we take reasonable measures to safeguard it against unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. Limited information is shared only as needed to provide the service:
Between customers and workers — when you post or accept a job, relevant details (such as your name, profile photo, task details, and chat messages) are shared with the other party so the service can be completed.
Service providers — we use trusted third-party services such as Google Firebase to host data and deliver notifications. These providers process data only to help us operate the App.
Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You can view and update your profile information within the App.
You can turn notifications and location access on or off through your device settings.
You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.
8. Age Requirement
AbhiWork is intended only for users aged 18 and above. Workers must confirm that they are at least 18 years old before offering services. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to register as a worker. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe someone under 18 has registered, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
